🏵️ Catechism

What is Baptism?

Baptism is not just plain water, but it is the water included in God’s command and combined with God’s word.

Which is that word of God?

Christ our Lord says in the last chapter of Matthew: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matt. 28:19)

🙏 Prayer

Sunday: That we would rejoice in Christ’s gifts given us this day; that what we have learned and heard in worship would nourish our faith.

Monday: To trust in the promises of our baptism this week; for our daily work and calling; for the unemployed; for the salvation and well-being of our neighbors; for schools; for good government and for peace.

Tuesday: For deliverance from temptation and evil; for the addicted and despairing; for help in our daily struggle with sin.

Wednesday: For our marriage and family; for the widowed, orphaned, lonely, and those who grieve; for our community and neighborhood.

Thursday: For the Church and her pastors; for teachers and church workers; for missionaries and all who serve the Church.

Friday: For the preaching of the cross of Jesus and the spread of the gospel to all the world; for the persecuted and oppressed; for the sick and dying.

Saturday: For faithfulness to the end; for the renewal of faith for those who are struggling or who have fallen away; for our hearts to be receptive to God’s Word tomorrow; for pastors and people as they prepare to administer and receive Christ’s gifts.
