Nurturing the faith of families and children isn’t just one of our ministries. It’s our entire ministry.

Faith Foundations is our Sunday education and discipleship program for the whole family. Here’s how it works:
🕧 We meet on Sundays from 9:15am - 10:15am in the Ministry Center.
👨👩👧👦 During the opening, families sit together to read, sing, and discuss faith together.
📕 After the opening, kids PreK - High School dismiss to their classes. Adults stay in the Ministry Center for Bible Study and fellowship. There is a staffed nursery for infants and toddlers available in the church basement.
⛪ At 10:15am, parents pick up their children in their classrooms and attend church together.
🎫 Several times per year, we host a Family Hour. The whole church comes together to learn more about a faith practice and to enjoy food and fellowship.
🗓️ Faith Foundations runs from September to April. During the summer, families are encouraged to attend our summer study together.
As the children of our church grow, we provide them with Bibles, hymnals, catechisms, and more to help them live and grow as baptized children of God. We celebrate the new stage of life that God has called them into with public prayer and blessing.

Beginning in middle school, we invite our youth to receive more intensive instruction in the Christian faith. Through deep exploration of the Bible, the catechism, and Christian doctrine, students grow in confessing and living their faith. Confirmation aids families in preparing their children for a lifetime as disciples of Jesus who take refuge in Christ by hearing His grace in Word and Sacrament.

At Zion, we want every child to find refuge in Jesus and grow in faith. Vacation Bible School is our summer program where children learn the story of Jesus, sing, play, create, and make new friends! VBS is open to all children, whether they regularly attend church or are joining us for the first time.

Students in grades 4 - 9 attend Camp Minneboji, a week-long summer camp adventure for LCMS youth from churches across South Dakota. The camp features Bible study, mission presentations, music, crafts, sports, recreation, and the chance to meet new Christian friends!

Our high school ministry helps students grow in their faith as they learn God’s Word, ask honest questions, and encourage one another. Through Bible study, fellowship, and opportunities to serve, we seek to nurture a living faith in Jesus that shapes how students live and love their neighbors.
Our youth group meets on Sundays as part of Faith Foundations, with special activities occurring throughout the year.
