We are Lutheran!
We are dedicated to Christ…
Zion’s mission is to know Christ better and to make Him known to all.
At Zion we believe, teach, and confess that we are all broken sinners in need of God’s salvation, which He freely gives through His Word and Sacrament. This is no club for the sinless – it’s a hospital for sinners! Mark 2:17
Zion Lutheran is dedicated to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught and proclaimed since the days of the apostles, and to the best of the historic traditions and worship of the Christian Church… This isn’t just our niche, this is who we are. We are faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ, and resist being conformed to the image of the world. At the same time, we aren’t stuck in the past. The Gospel is taught proclaimed at Zion Lutheran Church today, for you. The Christian life of faith and love is lived today, by real people.
Zion is a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, a conservative and confessional Lutheran denomination with over 6,100 congregations in all 50 states and two Canadian provinces. We are “conservative” because we seek to conserve the pure doctrinal teaching of the inspired, inerrant Word of God. We have staunchly defended the Bible as the only standard by which church teachings can be judged. We are “confessional” because all of our pastors have promised to uphold the interpretation and explanation of Scripture as contained in the Lutheran Confessions. We promise to preach and teach the full counsel of God as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, not the fads of the world or the hobby horses of our pastors.

We are dedicated to teaching the Faith…
To be Lutheran is to have the certainty that, despite our best efforts, we can do nothing to earn salvation. At the same time, to be Lutheran is to have the certainty that our sins are forgiven and to be certain that our Lord Jesus has given us the gift of eternal life.
The Scriptures and the Small Catechism are the basis for our Christian life of service and prayer. A central part of our program is to teach the language of the Faith. This means learning by heart the texts of the Small Catechism. Why? Because we learn by heart that which we love.
We are happy to partner with parents as they raise their children in the Christian Faith. To help parents teach the Faith to their children we have set up a learn by memory section for all our Sunday school grades as well as sending home materials to work with your children throughout the week.
